The flagship inter-table event of Area 2 hosted by MMRT42 is our shuttle tournament. This year the event was held on 29th Nov, the venue was Sterling club. While there were looming clouds and rain expected on this day, the event was actually conducted with the backdrop of very nice weather. This annual flagship event of MMRT 42 was greatly supported by our beloved HTs and Sq. Legs. This year additional sponsorship was secured from Vasanth Memorial / TI Cycles / Nathella Jewelers / Tangerine 111 Club.
The statistics from this event was mind boggling.
• 9 hrs of Nonstop games
• 160 Tablers, Circlers and twinklers participated
• 27 Twinklers participated
The LC 7 team had a host of activities organized for the twinklers, which included the use of the swimming pool with a life guard. Painting, art tattoo, popcorn counters, bouncy castle, gifts and takeaways from games organized through the day.
This year once again saw close match-ups and 123, 162, 94 continue to be the best shuttle playing tables in Area 2. The winners of the various categories were
The overall Championship trophy went to MCRT 94 for their performance across all categories. MSRT 159 won the fellowship trophy with maximum participation at the event. It was a super Sunday well spent in hosting all of Area 2. A big thank you to all the tables for your participation, and for making this a great event.
14th Edition of Cock-A-Table-Do was organized on the 26th October 2014 at Sterling Club, Nungambakkam. We had over 120 Tablers participating from all the Area 2 Tables.
Every year we used conduct a raffle draw. The amount raised out of that will be donated to Ekam Foundation. Through Raffle we raised nearly Rs. 16,000/-.
We also had Prizes like BSA Cycle and for the Winners we gave T-shirts and shoes contributed by Mr. Ashok Bajaj.
To make this event more meaningful, we have also initiated a Medical Camp for Tablers for General Check up pertaining to Hyper tension (BP), Diabetes (Blood Sugar) and Body Mass Index. The medical camp was done by our partner Rotary Club of Madras Esplanade Dr. B. Mahender, B.M. Hospital.
Sandeep coordinated with Samsung for sponsoring this event. The kids were given fun books / tabs to play games. They all enjoyed playing the games.
Lunch Provided to Rotary Nagar Slum Children:
As a Community Service Project we had provided lunch to the Rotary Nagar Slum Children. Turning Point helped in distributing the food to the needy Children.
