The Auto Rickshaw Challenge an unique project of MMRT – 42 was organized in association with the Event Management Company.
Auto Rickshaw Challenge, Mumbai Express 2015, Flag Down at Chennai on 21st August
The Auto Rickshaw Challenge has evolved to become our flagship fundraiser and publicity event through which we have been successful over the past years to raise funds to support our projects This year the first race was the Mumbai Express Challenge that started at Mumbai on 16th August and finished at Chennai on 22nd August. The Flag down event was held at our Pallikarnai School Campus to showcase RTI and our project to all the participants. Through the race the participants interacted with tables along the way. Thanks to Tables 128 / 115/ 109 / 44 / 23 for their support and help to the teams along their journey from Mumbai to Chennai. Actress Dhansika was the Chief Guest
Auto Rickshaw Challenge, Chennai Express 2015, 19th – 23rd October
The Auto Rickshaw challenge Tamilnadu Run 2015' was the second race this year. The teams were given a warm welcome at the Government School in Pallikaranai, Chennai by MMRT 42 Tablers on 18th October 2015 and the participants visited the project site to understand RTI and our past projects and how the funds raised from the ARC has helped transform lives. After a day’s rest the race was flagged off by the MMRT42 tablers. The race extended from 19th October to 23rd October. The race consisted of 11 teams from Canada, New Zealand, UK, Germany, Denmark, Lithuania, Austria and Finland. The participants were all set for an adventure travel that started from Chennai, panning Tamil Nadu and concluded back in Chennai
Of the 11 teams, TEAM CRAZY HORSE from Germany was a part of a leading news channel. They recorded all the events throughout their journey and the same was telecast in Germany to spread message of Round Table India. They did their part to spread the awareness of the monies being raised for projects undertaken and completed and to motivate people to contribute to the cause of student education for the less fortunate.
The Auto Rickshaw Challenge Chennai Express was completed on 23rd October 2015, and awards were given to the teams. The teams were extremely satisfied with the overall arrangements and back end support. They were more than happy to go back to their respective countries and spread the message of Round Table India (RTI) and their association with projects supporting FTE. This year this race has been named “Caravan Humanitaire” to secure funds also focused for the Chennai flood relief
Auto Rickshaw Challenge, Malabar Rampage 2016, 4th – 9th April
Malabar Rampage Auto Rickshaw Challenge 2016 was a unique adventure on auto rickshaws with participants from across the globe like UK , USA, Australia, New Zealand, France, Sweden and India. Madras Midtown Round Table 42 is the exclusive Charity partner anchor for all the Rickshaw Rallies.
The 1,010 km race was planned for seven days. The starting point was from Thiruvananthapuram and the race ended at Panaji. The dates were April 4th to April 9, taking its teams of 18 international rickshaws of 38 participants from seven countries on an exhilarating journey across the length and breadth of the country. In order to win the Rickshaw Challenge, the participants had to rely on the locals at each destination to guide them along. Clearly it is all about human interaction.
The teams covered Thiruvananthapuram, Allepey, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Murudeshwar and Panaji in a week.During the Challenge participants engaged in a number of mini-races and challenges on a daily basis through which the contestants also got the opportunity to form a meaningful connection to the places they are visiting. Along the way, the participants of the Rickshaw Challenge will be make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged by raising funds for various projects of Round Table India under their Flagship programme ``Freedom Through Education''.
• The first rally of the year 2014 – 15 was held on 20th Oct 2014 at 8 am at Hotel Residency Towers.
• The rally covered 206 kms starting from Chennai – Puducherry – Thanjavur – Salem – Thiruvaannamalai – Chennai
• 15 Participants from Countries like Netherland, Australia, UK & New Zealand participated in this Rally.
TUK THE CHALLENGE:
• TUK the Challenge was flagged off on 1st November 2014 from The Residency Towers.
• Covered 914 kms starting from Chennai – Goa.
• It had 24 participants in 12 teams from various countries like Singapore, UK, Hongkong, Malaysia and Australia.
• Classic Run was flagged off on 29th December 2014 from The Residency Towers.
• Covered 780 Kms starting from Chennai -Pondicherry-Thanjavur-Madurai-Tuticorin-courtallam-Kanniyakumari-Trivandrum
• 26 Participants from Countries like UK, Spain, and France participated in this Rally.
